God in the World – the conversation

Our class is a conversation about finding God in the world and in our daily lives. These conversations are centered in prayer as we also talk about the spiritual disciplines that lead us to walking Christ’s path of love and compassion. We do this in an attitude of prayer with respect for the many different viewpoints of the individuals in our group. We meet on Sunday at 9:30 if you wish to join us in person. Please feel free to join in the conversations here if you cannot attend. Your comments will be moderated. It is of the utmost importance for us to speak with godly respect to one another when we differ.

Our choir is composed from members of the church. While mostly made up of guitarists, we also welcome other instruments. We play acoustic guitars with the exception of the bass. This not only suits our small worship space, but also reflects the make up of our Appalchian community where music thrives.

Members are:

Robin Whitley – director, vocals, guitarist, and mandolin.

David Brewin – assistant director, vocals, and lead guitar

John Lindgren – vocals and lead guitar

Dianne Lindgren – rhythm guitar and backup vocals

Janet Hart -rhythm guitar and backup vocals

Terry Emley – rhythm guitar and vocals

Susan Braithwaite – rhythm guitar and backup vocals

Robert Braithwaite – bass guitar and backup vocals

Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran is an open and welcoming congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).
